BRIGHTER
“Life is a mosaic of pleasure and pain—grief is an interval between two moments of joy.”--Sathya Sai Baba.
Brighter is a finished tabletop simulator workshop game on Steam that was produced by myself in the CTIN 488 course at USC School of Cinematic Arts. The game aims to make the overall emotion of the player's game experience "uplifted."
In terms of art, I created the needed visuals for cards, and boards and used open-source humorous icons as graphics.
During the development of this game, I wanted to create a game where each round of the game is unique in the gameplay experience. Therefore randomization is very essential to set up what is unique before a round started. To accomplish that, I set up 4 features that work as a system to contribute the "randomness" for each round. And they are: "Role Cards, Life Goal Cards, Event Cards, and Player Cards." The specifics of these cards can be found in the rule book.
In addition to the rulebook, I also created a booklet of Q&A to support the rules because the randomness of the game could get players confused about a situation. Together, players are able to handle different complex situations which might occur in the gameplay.
The game is published on Steam's Tabletop Simulator Workshop, everyone is welcome to play if interested!
